Biographical Information
Born to a family of FTL propulsion specialists (theoretical and experimental alike) and medical professionals, Zeev received an extended education during his early years. As his older siblings chose medicine, Zeev took upon himself to distinguish his family line in space engineering - from automated probes to ships and space stations. Upon graduation from College as an 1st Class Engineer (counterpart of Human cum laude), Zeev continued his junior engineer job at Tellar Prime Shipyards, the primary facility which produced space vessels for Tellar Space Administration and its Navy.
He attempted to adapt Vulcans’ coleopteric warp geometry to existing Tellarite capital vessels, most notably Pralim-class but this proved a failure since it would require major changes in Tellarite power distribution philosophy. After fourteen of Earth’s years in Shipyards, he transferred to T.S.C. Alaar, quickly becoming Chief Engineer of the vessel.
In Myriad Universes: To Lose the Earth, where Zeev is first introduced, he became Alaar's commanding officer when the previous captain was killed in a skirmish against Orion Syndicate vessels. Shortly after the Fall of Earth, he was part of the joint Tellarite-Vulcan relief convoy which evacuated Human settlers from Mars to Alpha Centauri. At this time, he became the initiator and proponent to establish a Vanguard Flotilla - a multi-species effort in local space to investigate and avert the disasters like the one in which Earth was caught.
In Prime/STO Universe, Zeev became one of the first Chief Engineers aboard a non-Tellarite vessel in newly established Federation Starfleet. Although proud of his contributions to Tellarite vessels and designs, he quickly became adherent to what is known as Tobin Dax Doctrine - future jointly built vessels should have circular shape like NX-class rather than elongated one, like Tellarites, Andorians and Vulcans exercised, with a simple reasoning: “In a layered circular profiled vessel, I can take multiple pathways to reach a critical area that needs fixing.”
In both timelines, he married and divorced twice some time prior to 2161. In each marriage, he had two children. “I am married to my engines.”, he often stated.
