SUBJ: Supply Delivery
Greetins, Gul Vakani!
We did not have a pleasure to correspond before. I am Wanya Lesyak, commanding officer of USS Aspasia, Starfleet. I wish to inform You that, at the request of Castellan’s Council to United Federation of Planets, my vessel was tasked with delivering supplies to the Union’s colony in Lahra system.
Upon our arrival at the edge of the system and proceeded under full impulse to Lahra Prime. We docked with the planet’s orbital flight control station and delivered construction materials, tools and machinery required for further expansion of this orbital facility.

Engineering Department of my crew remained aboard the station to provide basic training and instructions on how to operate the machinery most efficiently, though I am told Your fellow Cardassians were eager to catch up on some “secrets of trade”, as the phrasing goes. My engineers tell me that they were well received throughout their entire stay aboard the station (three of your standard days).
Meanwhile, two dozen cryogenic chambers containing agricultural seeds were beamed down to the planet. The seeds, I am told, are specifically tailored for a variety of Lahra Prime climate regions by Dr. Keiko O’Brien and Dr. Molly O’Brien, following the good practices of the former’s original Andak Project. Our botanists assisted in thawing the seeds and preparing them for planting in the greenhouses that were prepared prior to our arrival.
While all went well in system, on our way to Cardassia we were intercepted by group of Orion mercaneries, just on the far side of Oradha system. One capital ship, which Orions usually identify as “brigand cruiser”, supported by several smaller interceptors. They engaged us without any prior warning and did not respond to our hails. Unfortunately, we were forced to return fire once they attacked. The interceptors were destroyed but this “brigand cruiser” put up quite a fight. It seems they were using some sort of upgraded shielding. We were able to disable their weapons, but they successfully deployed a highly ionizing particle burst in close proximity of our ship. This overloaded our navigational sensors, providing them with an opportunity to escape. We have estimated their course towards the Badlands.

I must apologise for not being able to prevent their escape. I understand that piracy has been on rise since this Chimeran crisis has begun. In the attachment, You will find the energy profile and scanning results of this cruiser. We are now recalibrating our navigational sensors and we should be back to Cardassia in two of your standard days. After that, we will proceed back to Deep Space 13.
With sincere regards,
W. Lesyak
