R.R.W. Dhae’Rhian
The RRW Dhae’Rhian, officially commissioned as the RRW Dhae’Rhian-B, is a Rallus-class Warbird, and the first of these to be commissioned by the Republic. These warbirds utilize reverse engineered technology discovered through the continued studies on the Solanae Dyson Sphere to allow the ship to serve dual purpose as research vessel and warship. The Dhae’Rhian incorporates a number of advanced weapons systems, as well as a secondary deflector array.
Given to the command of Commander Passio Tar’Nin in 2425, the Dhae’Rhian is currently seen as one of the most advanced vessels in the Republic Fleet and the first vessel to utilize shield penetrating High-Impact Particle Cannons designed by Federation engineer Cck’Tck’Klk.
History
The Rallus-class of warbird began development soon after the Iconian War in 2414, as one of many projects formed by the Alliance Cooperative Starship Development board. The design began as one of three prototypes developed by modifying existing Solanae ships found during the larger investigations of the Sphere. As the technology behind these Dyson ships became better understood, efforts began to create new ship designs based upon them.
With threats to the galaxy at large appearing more and more frequently, but the Republic’s resources still limited, the creation of dual-purpose vessels had become more important that ever before. The Solanae technology provided a perfect basis for this new type of vessel, with advanced power distribution systems that re-direct and allocate power across a ship’s systems more efficiently than current technology.
The Rallus is the result of the Republic’s efforts on this front. While a number of these vessels began construction in 2417 in response to the threats arising in the Alpha Quadrant, the first ship would not be completed until early 2425. The design philosophy behind these new “Research Destroyers” was simple, to produce long-range exploratory research vessels which serve dual-purpose as warships when needed.
Command of this first Rallus was granted to Commander Passio Tar’nin in 2425, and now sees regular deployment across the Republic.
Project Deviance
The Dhae’Rhian’s High-Impact Particle Cannons began as a side project of Federation engineer Lieutenant Commander Tick in 2410. Dubbed in his files as “Project Deviance”, the cannons were developed over the course of 14 years during his service for the Federation and Romulan Republic. His basic designs for the graviton-powered cannons were given to the Alliance Cooperative Starship Development Board in 2420, and finished development in 2424. Installation on the first Rallus was suggested by Captain Zacariah Valiens that year, and finally completed in early 2425.

Command and Control Systems
The Dhae’Rhian is equipped with a dual-core coputer system based on designs found inside the Solanae Dyson Sphere. The bridge of the vessel is located on the forward section of Deck 1, labelled on internal maps as Deck 1A.
From the bridge, the ship can be placed into two command configurations. These change the functionalities of the bridge consoles and the direction of power draw across the ship. The ship has two configurations, tactical and research.
The research configuration is considered the default. In this configuration, the ship utilizes 16 research bays, an enhanced sensor suite, and a secondary deflector array. The tactical configuration shuts down research bays 12 through 16, most of the auxiliary sensors, and the secondary deflector array in order to direct power to additional weapons and targeting systems, including the twin High-Impact Particle Cannons.
Physical Arrangement & Crew Support
The Rallus supports 35 decks arranged throughout the ship’s main structure and wings. The wings house most of the ship’s auxiallary research bays, four Holodecks, and other recreational facilities. The primary crew quarters are housed on decks 14 through 18, with support crew being housed on decks 26 and 28. The bridge crew has separate designated quarters located on decks 2 and 3, to allow for fast response in emergency situations.
Propulsion and Power Generation
The Rallus supports a Romulan Singularity Core enhanced with technology reverse engineered from the Dyson gateways. This core enhances the subspace fields generated by the nacelles in order to regularly achieve a top speed of roughly Warp Factor 9.4 at nearly half the power draw a similarly sized starship would require to achieve it. As well, the Dyson power systems present in the Rallus-class allow for extremely efficient power transfers. This allows the ship to change it’s power configurations in seconds, an act which would otherwise take minutes, even hours.
Tactical and Defensive Systems
The weapons systems aboard the Dhae’Rhian feature several sets of dual Solar Plasma Cannons, on top of the standard array of Romulan Plasma Torpedos. Unlike normal Romulan Plasma Cannons, which utilize warp plasma, the Solar Plasma Cannons create momentary stellar fusion reactions. These “micro-star bolts” are then propelled towards enemy vessels using a magnetic field inside the weapon. The weapons have increased ability to cause lasting burns on modern tritanium hull plating, melting away exterior hull plates and leaving opposing vessels more vulnerable to torpedo fire.
The Rallus-class also features a cloaking device, and has been designed to accomodate the installation of a varied selection of weaponry in place of the High-Impact Particle Cannons installed on the Dhae’Rhian.
High-Impact Particle Cannons
High-Impact Particle Cannons use an experimental method of drawing on the graviton particles created by Romulan Singularity Cores and propelling them at near warp speeds towards enemy vessels. This is accomplished through the use of a two minaturized warp coils, which generate a pair of subspace fields to create a “pinch point” of sorts. This point concentrates and accelerates the gravitons generated by the singularity to near warp speeds, allowing the collected mass to penetrate enemy shield arrays and hulls. In the few times the weapons have been fired, they have proven extremely effective against Borg ships in particular, as the speeds allow the particles to penetrate through an entire vessel when fired accurately.
Auxiliary Spacecraft
The Dhae’Rhian houses 4 shuttlecraft and 2 runabouts, all but one of which are standard Romulan models. The extra is a Valiant Air Landing Craft, designed by Federation Captain Zacariah Valiens. For more information, see below addendum describing the Valiant Armor model VM-0128 “Valiant Majesty”.
Addendum VM0128
VM-0128 “Valiant Majesty”
The VM-0128 model, named Valiant Majesty by Captain Zacariah Valiens, is the only armor of its kind. Designed based on a 20th century television program, it is constructed of four separate units and is currently used as the personal armor unit of Romulan Republic Subcommander Ruby Valiens.
The armor is comprised of a single Valiant Air landing shuttle and three additional units which are used in combat situations. The extra units are designed to resemble a 19th century steam locomotive and two 20th century industrial transport automobiles. The shuttle unit can be combined with the three additional units through a complicated process before a combat mission to convert them into the Valiant Majesty armor unit.
Onboard weapon systems include a pair of arm-mounted local shield arrays, two high-energy missile launchers, and an onboard replicator capable of creating simple melee weapons for the machine to utilize.
