Biographical Information
Caedmon McCullough was the third of five children born to Hamish and Lorna McCullough, in Hampton, Virginia, Earth, where he spend his first 17 years prior to being accepted to Starfleet Academy in 2287. His father an engineering officer and shipwright, his mother having served as aide-de-camp and command staff officer. Speaks Scots Gaelic fluently, and is at least conversant in a few other languages, including Romulan and Klingon. He does sport shoulder and half sleeve tattoos in the style of Celtic line art and clan crests of the Scotish clans making up a majority of his lineage, easily concealable under uniforms and other clothing not out of shame, but rather that it’s a personal matter to him he sees little to no reason to openly broadcast.
Caedmon had developed a fascination with history, ships and engineering during his childhood, that he’d picked computer science and history as double majors at the Academy, and six months before showing up, he had attempted on of Earth’s most dangerous waterways with a twin-masted topsail Baltimore Clipper style schooner… around Terra Del Fuego. He made the journey successfully, but it had tempered his outlook on any ship service from then on, learning well that one doesn’t tame or ‘conquer’ the elements, but would learn to play by the rules of nature. His outlook was noted, early on, as being fairly attuned to reading the environment, picking up on cues such as “shifts in the wind,” being cognizant of roughs, swells and the calm, any landmarks in the area, and so on, thus allowing for ship operations to take advantage of the environment and adding a more nuanced style of driving or commanding a ship.
He opted for ship service during his academy years, as much as he could get at any rate, graduating in 2292 and being assigned to the USS Saratoga, NCC-1887, and had been in orbit of Khitomer durring the Accord in 2293. From there, a few assignments as a rising computer systems specialist, until his time on the Ranger-class USS Revere and it’s being retired a year early. Upon the skipper’s recommendation, he had gone to Starfleet’s Advanced Tactical School, and become a tactical officer of much of his time as a field grade officer, as well as Executive Officer on the Shangri-la Class USS Medusa, before going to Starfleet’s Command and Staff College, a development directorship at the Advanced Starship Test and Evaluation Center, and finally as a Captain of a Miranda-class USS Marathon. Three years into his tour, while being sent on a mission to find and recover the Excelsior-class USS Rathburne (NCC-3420), the Marathon and crew got caught in a temporal event that shot them all about 90 years forward from 2312, but what they consider “a scenic misadventure through time and space.”
Having been shot around existence for that time, gathering ad hoc updates and rebuilds of the ship, and eventually landing in 2401, they had been greeted by their modern counterparts with much curiosity, a reasonable skepticism in the actual sense, and some incredulity, given the cultural differences between the crew and the broader society of which they now are a part, and the altered state of the ship between disappearance and reappearance. Since then, his crew had kept to the Marathon, and Caedmon now directing a dedicated defense force arm of Starfleet and retaining his ship as a flagship, despite it’s relatively diminutive size and age. On his ship, the USS Marathon, he and a bunch of the crew had refit the theater, backstage and forward lounge on deck six to a consolidated pub environment, and it has since become a hub for the crew to blow off steam and unwind during and after long hauls, and for ceremonies, unofficial events, and so on. The Marathon also sports a small library aboard, and a vast collection of programs and entertainment for the crew, as the ship and all aboard are known for spending a large amount of time deployed. The programs are as much for training and team building, as well as be used for more sporting measures. The ship also sports many upgrades and improvements not normally, if at all, associated with late 23rd or early 24th century construction. Ship, crew, and Caedmon all, are still on active duty.
Caedmon is also a brass musician, with the Trumpet, Tuba and French Horn as his favorites to play, as well as a set of bagpipes. He also has a pet Russian Blue Cat called Pixel, who’s considered the Marathon’s mascot and part of the crew.

Dr Elena K. Autry (Cdr) wrotePhysically fit for service. Well kept with running, obstacle courses, mountain climbing and Krav Maga training. Resting body temp of 36.1° C, pressure at 110/75. Only two real vices worth noting, which he thankfully moderates well, drink and the occasional cigar. Calorie intake isn’t terribly questionable, commensurate with workload.
Mental Health Assessment
Dr Ospra Hopaz (Cdr) wroteMentally fit, and charming as ever. On the side of introverted, also responds to and with dark humor, but that’s nothing unusual given what the crew, of which I’m a part, have been through over the decades. Fast analytical, on account of prior computer science and tactical training and certifications. It wouldn’t exactly be correct to call it perfectionism, but rather a driving sense of professional progress, and improvement on most fronts. He has exhibited a drive to keep himself, ship and crew moving forward and continually earning their place, and further more encouraging the crew to do it, for themselves most of all, and each other. “Spontaneity” from him would be more aptly be described as calculated risk taking from the aforementioned attributes. Keeps his mind clear with music, and sailing when he gets the chance.
