Biographical Information
Saun Jay Brex was a Bolian Starfleet officer who served in a variety of engineering and operations roles in his Starfleet career. A graduate of Starfleet Academy’s Class of 2400, Brex had a long tenure as chief engineer aboard multiple Federation starships and his later transition into command. As of 2426, he served as the executive officer of the U.S.S. Xanthii (NCC‑95806).
A skilled pilot and engineer, Saun Brex was born aboard Deep Space Nine, to Solian and Belwat Brex.
Brex was accepted into Starfleet Academy in 2396 on Stardate 73403.8. He majored in Starship Helm Operation, with minors in Warp Drive Technology, Starship Sensors, and Damage Control Procedures. He graduated on 11 November 2400 and was commissioned as an ensign.
Starfleet Career
Eary Service (2400-2408)
Brex’s first assignment was to the U.S.S. Poseidon (NCC‑70176-A) as a Flight Control Officer. By 2404, he had transferred to the Operations Division and was promoted to lieutenant junior grade. The following year, he became the ship’s Chief Operations Officer.
Due to the Poseidon's long duration and detached service along the Romulan Free State border and other former Romulan Neutral Zone locations, flexibility was afforded allowing Brex to continue to serve as a relief helmsman during quieter periods, as well as allowing him to gain experience piloting the Poseidon's array of shuttlecraft. In the later years of his assignment, he spent his off-duty time studying and shadowing Engineering.
In 2408, Poseidon returned to Federation space, and Brex was promoted to lieutenant along with a reassignment to a shakedown engineer aboard the newly constructed U.S.S. Banting (NCC‑3120‑B).
While his time onboard the Banting was only for the initial shakedown run before handing the vessel to the permanent Engineering staff, it was an invaluable time learning and implementing troubleshooting techniques and on-the-fly patch solutions.

Medical History
Physical Health Assessment
LT Sizu Frete wroteSubject is a generally healthy Bolian male approaching his 50th birthday. Having recently undergone six months of rigorous weight loss I find no signs of malnutrition, endocrine imbalance, or pathological cause. Weight loss was intentional, supervised, and achieved through increased cardiovascular training and nutritional recalibration.
I find Commander Brex fit for full duty with no restrictions. I recommend:
- Biannual musculoskeletal check
- Quarterly stress‑management review
- Annual dermal sensitivity panel
- Continued cardiovascular training
Mental Health Assessment
Counsellor Steinbrook wroteCmdr. Brex presents as a highly competent, introspective officer undergoing a major professional and personal transition. His shift from Engineering to Command, combined with significant lifestyle changes and weight loss, has prompted a routine psychological evaluation.
Brex is cooperative, reflective, and demonstrates strong insight into his own behavior patterns.
His engineering background gives him a strong foundation for command, and his recent lifestyle improvements have enhanced his confidence and resilience.
He is fully fit for duty, with no psychological barriers to continued service or advancement.
