Biographical Information

Ki’ras was born into a small, middle class Sh’issar family, which belonged to a larger Rrelar clan, on the planet Macadarna, one of the former Caitian colonies which attained independence and full membership, after the Cait joined United Federation of Planets. Rrelar clan members were mostly involved in statesmanship and educational responsibilities of Macandra society and, as such, rarely left their planet or Caitian territories in general. Occasionally, each of 8 families of Rrelar clan would actively encourage the young adults of the same generation to attend higher education institutions of other Federation member states, such as the Bajoran Cultural Heritage Institute, Daystrom Institute, Memory Alpha, Vulcan Science Academy and, naturally, the Starfleet Academy. In most cases, the young clan members would return to Macandra or Cait.

Ki’ras, ever since he was a kitten, was clumsy and quiet person, sometimes picked on by his peers. Rather than running and climbing around, like most Caitian children, he rather sat in his room, drawing, studying old maps and reading books on everything that had - structure. Be it regular planetary trajectories, double helix of the humanoid (or felinoid, in his case) genetic sequences, crystalline structures of materials, fancy symmetric buildings. And so, he chose geometry as his profession. This would later extend his interest into more advanced calculus, algebra and other topological systems, naturally occurring or imagined ones.

The Iconian War and the Battle of Cait had discouraged what was previously a long educational tradition of Rrelar clan. It was deemed important that the clan should stick together. Against the wishes and with out the blessings of prominent clan members, and only with the moral support of his family, Kiras set off to study at Starfleet Academy Annex on Beta Ursae Minor II. Over the years, however, his shy nature and clumsy behavior haven’t reduced. And so it still often happens he knocks over a vase with his paws, or hits someone with his tail. It remains one thing he can not model or mathematically write down.

Finding passion in the search for the mathematical beauty and elegance which governs the describes, if not governs, the Universe, during his time, both at Annex and final year in San Francisco, Ki’ras participated in variety of projects, stretching from modelling in virology and genome systems, to a much greater scales, such as planetary system formation. To others it may have been completely different and unrelated systems, to him it was finding a proper and elegant way to describe an image before him. He was going to do his cadet cruise in the PTX-1138 dwarf galaxy, but outbreak of End War in 2419 forced him to postpone his plans by one year.
