Biographical Information
An experienced starship captain of mixed heritage. Captain Ohsala is the child of a Bajoran father from Deep Space Nine and a Vulcan mother who served on the T’Kumbra. Growing up on Vulcan, she struggled to find a place for herself in her mother’s culture but has found her purpose in Starfleet. Her service record is solid but not stellar, with strong performance punctuated by occasional reprimands and a history of substance addiction.
Declassifications as of 2422 link Captain Ohsala to a number of past joint operations with Starfleet Intelligence against enemies such as Species 8472 and the Cardassian dissident movement. While she is known to have been attached to the Delta Quadrant Task Force for some time, her record from this period remains largely closed.

I have arranged for the Lieutenant to undergo counseling with a non-Vulcan professional through SF Correspondence Counseling in the hopes that a solution can be discovered. The Lieutenant’s service record otherwise shows competence, and it would be a shame to lose a good officer.

While nothing could have saved the ship, this action delayed the core breach to allow 100% of the surviving crew to escape, with the only losses being those sustained from injuries during the Klingon attack. For this effort, the Lieutenant is inducted into the Karagite Order of Heroism.

2420: <DECLASSIFIED SD 99482.1> Added by ADM Porak, SF Intelligence: CAPT Ohsala and the crew of USS Sachem, in concert with Gul Calun of CUV Gredol, Cardassian Union Navy, successfully completed operations in the Torinok system to eliminate Cardassian rebels poised to support the planned coup of Legate Brun Perak. During the operation, damage sustained to Sachem's nacelle pylons resulted in the separation of the nacelle from its pylon. Structural analysis has confirmed this incident was the result of stress damage exacerbating inadequate repairs conducted when Sachem underwent refit for this problem in 2413-14. I have ordered Sachem drydocked for retrofit and strongly recommend an inquiry as to the adequacy and conduct of the vessel’s prior refit.
