Biographical Information
The circumstances of ’Amon’s life are rather complex, as is usual among Klingons of any veritable lineage. Before his birth, ’Amon’s line had an honorable legacy spanning hundreds of years. The leaders of the line had managed to accumulate honor and merit in service of the Empire during its struggles against the Federation in the mid-23rd century, and has been granted lands on Archanis IV. It was a terrible loss of reputation to the fledgling House after the Empire ceded its claim on the sector for the federation, thereby setting back ’Amon’s line to landlessness once again.
’Amon’s line, now headed by Khadda’, his father, had won back reputation during the struggle against the dishonorable House Duras. Putting aside their enmity for the Federation, Khadda’ and his companions were among those that led the charge in Gowron’s service. For their resoluteness in the fight against the Empire’s internal enemies, Khadda’s line was granted the status of House once more. However, Khadda’ declined an offer to be given part of Duras’ lands, as he wished to reconquer what was promised to his forefathers long ago on Archanis IV.
The line of Khadda’ would soon find such an opportunity and was among the first to serve in the frontlines against the Federation during the war of 2372-2373. It was during this war that ’Amon was born, on a colony-ship headed towards Archanis IV. Not two months after his birth, however, he’d lose his father and older siblings. All fell in the battlefield against the Federation in hopes of regaining their lost lands. Despite their fervor, Khadda’s line was left with ’Amon, the youngest, as the only surviving member.
The colony-ship headed towards Archanis IV was diverted following the renewed Accords, and ’Amon was raised in one of H’atoria’s cities. ’Amon’s luck was that his family had fallen in valorous service to the Empire before the Changeling plot was uncovered, and thus their honor was unsullied by the treachery that led to their deaths. Robbing a Klingon of the chance to be raised by family proved to be a significant challenge for young ’Amon growing among his peers, most of whom more entrenched in their social status than he was. His only path forward would be the path of a warrior.
As Martok’s chancellorship had been friendlier to the common Klingons, ’Amon found himself enrolled in one of H’atoria’s military schools propped up by Governor Worf and supported politically by B’vat and his House. These times are remembered fondly by ’Amon as the days of material prosperity and youthful hope for glory. Such an attitude assisted him in his martial studies, from which he graduated among the top of his class and was transferred to the I.K.S nom lIr, an old B’rel-class Bird-of-Prey.
During the first months aboard the ship, however, he was embroiled in a controversy with his shipmates. A group of Klingons had repeatedly dishonored ’Amon for his connection to Martok and Worf, who were somewhat unpopular during those times. ’Amon eventually challenged their leader to combat, besting him despite a significant age gap between them. This cemented his presence aboard the ship and within the KDF as legitimate.
Just a year later ’Amon would be acquainted with proper battle against real enemies. Thirsty for bloodshed, the young Klingon managed to convince his ship’s captain to join the assault on the territories of the fragmented Romulan Star Empire, after a challenge he issued to the ship’s second officer who believed it to be foolish. In just a few days, the Klingon Empire managed to conquer Tranome Sar and Nequencia, which earned his captain a commendation. The captain, motivated by her loyalties to House Mo’Kai, denied ’Amon his promotion to the rank of Lieutenant. ’Amon’s ties to B’vat and his stellar rise in ranks posed a significant challenge to the captain, which sought to rein in the upstart youth. This was thwarted by ’Amon, who rallies the crew around promises of further glory on the Gorn front and calls against House Mo’Kai for their attack against B’vat’s prestigious line. With the backing of the crew, he challenged the captain and slew her, inheriting the seat of the I.K.S nom lIr, at just 17 years of age.
Following his ascension to de-facto captainhood, he was called by B’vat against House Mo’Kai, promised promotion to the rank of Commander if their war against the Mo’Kai were successful. As it was unheard of for a Lieutenant to command a ship, even an old B’rel, ’Amon was forced to comply and aid B’vat in his struggle.
